Where We Sail

Steadfast looks “compact,” indeed, passing the Atlantic Fleet, including the new carrier USS GHW Bush (CVN77), in Norfolk, Virginia

An Ideal Location

For quick day sails, Hills Bay–broad and sheltered–is just 10 minutes off our pier.  It’s a great place to spend an afternoon but also is the way to several scenic anchorages within an hour or two. Fishing Bay, popular with Snow Birds and Bay sailors alike, is just across the Piankatank River. (see chart: https://steadfastsail.net/where-we-sail/chesapeake-bay/It’s a three-mile sail to the entrance of Jackson Creek,a  more protected anchorage that also is busy in season (see pull down menu for chart). The light at Stingray Point, marking the mouth of the Rappahannock, is an hour’s sail. From there, the whole length of the bay is accessible, Hampton Roads (as seen above) to the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal or up and down the fabled Eastern Shore.
